Thousands of Bonnie Tyler fans are expected to gather in Swansea on Monday ahead of a church service held as part of the funeral for the singer.
Admirers are travelling from across the UK and overseas to her home city, where she remained a much-loved figure throughout her long career.
Local authorities have put arrangements in place for the expected crowds, including road closures around the church and screens for those unable to get inside.
“She was one of us. Wherever she sang in the world, Swansea always felt like part of her story.”
The singer rose to international fame with a distinctive, husky voice that made her one of Wales' best-known performers.
Her songs became fixtures on radio and at karaoke nights, and her music found new audiences among younger listeners in later decades.
Fans have been leaving flowers, cards and messages at locations across the city in the days leading up to the service.
Tributes have come from fellow musicians and public figures, many of whom described her as a generous performer who never forgot her roots.
The service is expected to include music and readings chosen to reflect her life and career.
Hotels and guest houses in the city reported strong demand ahead of the service, and local businesses said they were preparing for one of the busiest days in recent memory. Transport operators added extra capacity on some routes into Swansea. Many fans said they had planned their journeys as soon as the details were announced, determined to be there in person.
Organisers have asked those attending to arrive early, follow stewards' instructions and respect the family's wishes for a dignified farewell.
